Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

The weather this past weekend was perfect. We do not see many 75 degree days in July with no humidity. We decided to go to the zoo. We took Luke when he was about 9 months old but he was too young to really appreciate the animals.

We arrived at 2:30 and stayed until they closed at 6:00. It was so great watching Luke see all the animals. He definitely got a kick out of them. He would beat his chest and make the sound of the monkey, raise his arm over his face and make the sound of an elephant, roaring like the tigers.

He was a very good boy the whole time we were there. We brought the stroller but he only sat in it for about 10 minutes. He would rather push the stroller or be held. I think we brought it to hold our snacks and drinks more than Luke.

It truly was a perfect day. I wish we could have more days like it. I felt so loved and so proud of my family. It is so hard to explain the sense of pride I feel when I watch my husband and son together. It truly does melt my heart. I am blessed and fortunate to have a healthy and loving family. It truly was a perfect day, one I will cherish forever.

4th of July

I realize that the 4th of July has been a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to create a new post.

My in-laws came into town and we had a great time together. I love watching Luke play with his Uncles Matt and Joey.

It is so cute hearing Luke say PawPaw and MawMaw. He sounds so country, it's funny.
PawPaw and MawMaw drove Luke around town anytime we went anywhere. Luke would say fast PawPaw fast.

I wish my in-laws lived closer. We love seeing them and watching them with Luke. Of course, Luke loves it when they come into town. He is the center of attention and he knows it.

We had plans to go downtown and watch the fireworks. Greg and I went to scope out a spot with a great view but far enough away that we wouldn't be in the mix of things and get out of downtown without getting caught in the traffic. This did not work out, mother nature had other ideas. It rained so hard we were unsure if they could even light the fireworks. We felt it was best to skip it.
