Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

The weather this past weekend was perfect. We do not see many 75 degree days in July with no humidity. We decided to go to the zoo. We took Luke when he was about 9 months old but he was too young to really appreciate the animals.

We arrived at 2:30 and stayed until they closed at 6:00. It was so great watching Luke see all the animals. He definitely got a kick out of them. He would beat his chest and make the sound of the monkey, raise his arm over his face and make the sound of an elephant, roaring like the tigers.

He was a very good boy the whole time we were there. We brought the stroller but he only sat in it for about 10 minutes. He would rather push the stroller or be held. I think we brought it to hold our snacks and drinks more than Luke.

It truly was a perfect day. I wish we could have more days like it. I felt so loved and so proud of my family. It is so hard to explain the sense of pride I feel when I watch my husband and son together. It truly does melt my heart. I am blessed and fortunate to have a healthy and loving family. It truly was a perfect day, one I will cherish forever.

4th of July

I realize that the 4th of July has been a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to create a new post.

My in-laws came into town and we had a great time together. I love watching Luke play with his Uncles Matt and Joey.

It is so cute hearing Luke say PawPaw and MawMaw. He sounds so country, it's funny.
PawPaw and MawMaw drove Luke around town anytime we went anywhere. Luke would say fast PawPaw fast.

I wish my in-laws lived closer. We love seeing them and watching them with Luke. Of course, Luke loves it when they come into town. He is the center of attention and he knows it.

We had plans to go downtown and watch the fireworks. Greg and I went to scope out a spot with a great view but far enough away that we wouldn't be in the mix of things and get out of downtown without getting caught in the traffic. This did not work out, mother nature had other ideas. It rained so hard we were unsure if they could even light the fireworks. We felt it was best to skip it.

Corn!

We decided to have corn on the cob for dinner the other night. I didn't make one for Luke. He decided to grab mine off my plate and go to town. He did pretty good. He made quite the mess. Now when he sees a mess he will say "Oh no, a mess" Ha-Ha. It was so cute to see him eating that corn, I had to take pictures and share.

Swimming Saturday

Like every kid Luke loves to swim and play in the water. We took him to the pool at a friend's house a few weekends ago. We thought he would throw a fit when it was time to go. Thankfully, he did not. It was getting late and he had goose bumps. We wrapped him up changed his clothes and gave him some apples. To our surprise he was ready to go. It seems that his hair is getting so blonde in the summer sun. Check out my blonde, blue eyed boy.

Dirty Sunday

This past Sunday Greg and I wanted to work in the yard. We are trying to get our yard looking a little better. Something nice to look at and not an eye sore. I wish we knew where to start. There is so much to do. Anyway, Luke wanted to help me plant. He sat down and starting digging, throwing and playing with the dirt. He put it in his hair and rubbed some on his arm. By the end of the day he was covered in dirt, he had a good time. Once we wrapped up outside, it was straight to the tub. He-he
I wish you could see the dirt in his hair.
Greg was taking his picture, told him to smile and this is the look he got, Ha-Ha

Do you see the fists full of dirt?

Do you see that look of defiyance? We were telling him not to throw the dirt

Fun at the park

Sunday we took Luke to the park by our house. It's not far, a nice walk for everyone. Greg took Luke to the park everyday while I was in California for my grandfather's funeral. I think he was hoping it tucker him out and sleep well, which it did. Luke was so cute as we rounded the corner and he spotted the park he got all excited and giggled and said"yes" with a little fist pump action. I hope you enjoy these photos. Like most kids he loves playing at the park.
It won't be long, time to buy a helmet!

Silly Boy

Greg and I bought Luke a balloon the other night. The first one we bought flew away. We were trying to strap him into his car seat and I opened the other car door and out went the balloon. He was so excited about his balloon when we first got it, we had to get him another one. He was so silly while he was playing with his balloon I had to take some video and post it. I don't know what I was thinking when I shot this. I turned the camera so the video is sideways. I guess I was thinking about taking a picture and I just didn't realize the video would be sideways. So turn your head and enjoy my silly boy!

My Working Man

Luke is such a little helper. He wants to help you with what ever it is you are doing. If I am sweeping the floor he wants to take over. If I am scrubbing the floor he will take my rag and I have to get another one. If I am vacuuming, granted he stays away while I am vacuuming, he likes to push the vacuum around. If he hears the water on the washing machine he will run and get some clothes and wants to put them in the washer. When you are taking the clean clothes out of the washer and putting them in dryer he has to push them into the dryer. Even the ladies at daycare tell me that he is such a good little helper. In this video Greg was using the power screwdriver. Once daddy was done he took the bit out and gave it to Luke and he looks like he is trying to fix the cabinet. He-he my little helper.

Long time

I am sorry it has been such a long time since my last post. I have been very busy. Luke has given me plenty to blog about. I just haven't had the time to sit down and write the blog. I took these pictures this morning. He is wearing a new shirt and it really shows off those baby blues. I hope you enjoy them.

Visit from California

Aunt Lana and cousin Taylor came out for a visit the first week of April. They came out to surprise grandpa Ross and see the rest of the family. Luke hasn't seen Lana and Taylor since he was born, 18 months ago. I started showing him their pictures a few weeks before. Hoping that he wouldn't be nervous around them. Well, he didn't really speak or say much of anything until the last day of their trip. He wouldn't go to Lana but he loved playing with Taylor, or Tay Tay for Luke. By the end of their stay Luke had no problem sitting with Aunt Lana.
