Luke made his first batch of sugar cookies. We had lots of fun. I have a very cute video but despite my best attemps I cannot get the video to load, at home or work.
I apologize for the lack of blog entries. I had no idea it had been so long since I posted anything.
Back to the sugar cookies.....
Luke had fun picking out the shape he wanted to use. His favorite was a star and a train. As you may know he isn't a big sweets eater and hasn't really eaten a whole sugar cookie but he sure did have fun making them.

Luke is 2!

On Saturday Luke turned two years old. It is so hard to believe that my baby is 2. Of course, I have nothing to compare Luke to but to me he is so smart and loving. He is the sweetest little boy. He just loves to be loved and give love. We had a great birthday party. He loves Elmo. I made Elmo cupcakes, invitations and balloons. Luke loved his balloons. I hung them from the living room ceiling so that they were at his level. He absolutely loved running and hitting them. We had burgers, chips and potato salad. Luke was blessed with lots and lots of gifts. It would take a long time to list them. Let's just say that he will be busy with his new toys for a long time. He will also be keep warm with all his new clothes this winter. Thank you everyone for coming to Luke's party and for all his wonderful gifts. The noisiest toys were given to Luke from my parents, paybacks. Ha-Ha.

Say Cheese

Just a video of a cute kid saying cheese!

Swing!

Check out Luke's golf swing. I say he's pretty good and not even two years old yet. If you watch close enough you will see the wiggle before the swing, too cute! Look out Tiger Woods!

Nashville Zoo at Grassmere

The weather this past weekend was perfect. We do not see many 75 degree days in July with no humidity. We decided to go to the zoo. We took Luke when he was about 9 months old but he was too young to really appreciate the animals.

We arrived at 2:30 and stayed until they closed at 6:00. It was so great watching Luke see all the animals. He definitely got a kick out of them. He would beat his chest and make the sound of the monkey, raise his arm over his face and make the sound of an elephant, roaring like the tigers.

He was a very good boy the whole time we were there. We brought the stroller but he only sat in it for about 10 minutes. He would rather push the stroller or be held. I think we brought it to hold our snacks and drinks more than Luke.

It truly was a perfect day. I wish we could have more days like it. I felt so loved and so proud of my family. It is so hard to explain the sense of pride I feel when I watch my husband and son together. It truly does melt my heart. I am blessed and fortunate to have a healthy and loving family. It truly was a perfect day, one I will cherish forever.

4th of July

I realize that the 4th of July has been a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to create a new post.

My in-laws came into town and we had a great time together. I love watching Luke play with his Uncles Matt and Joey.

It is so cute hearing Luke say PawPaw and MawMaw. He sounds so country, it's funny.
PawPaw and MawMaw drove Luke around town anytime we went anywhere. Luke would say fast PawPaw fast.

I wish my in-laws lived closer. We love seeing them and watching them with Luke. Of course, Luke loves it when they come into town. He is the center of attention and he knows it.

We had plans to go downtown and watch the fireworks. Greg and I went to scope out a spot with a great view but far enough away that we wouldn't be in the mix of things and get out of downtown without getting caught in the traffic. This did not work out, mother nature had other ideas. It rained so hard we were unsure if they could even light the fireworks. We felt it was best to skip it.

Corn!

We decided to have corn on the cob for dinner the other night. I didn't make one for Luke. He decided to grab mine off my plate and go to town. He did pretty good. He made quite the mess. Now when he sees a mess he will say "Oh no, a mess" Ha-Ha. It was so cute to see him eating that corn, I had to take pictures and share.

Swimming Saturday

Like every kid Luke loves to swim and play in the water. We took him to the pool at a friend's house a few weekends ago. We thought he would throw a fit when it was time to go. Thankfully, he did not. It was getting late and he had goose bumps. We wrapped him up changed his clothes and gave him some apples. To our surprise he was ready to go. It seems that his hair is getting so blonde in the summer sun. Check out my blonde, blue eyed boy.

Dirty Sunday

This past Sunday Greg and I wanted to work in the yard. We are trying to get our yard looking a little better. Something nice to look at and not an eye sore. I wish we knew where to start. There is so much to do. Anyway, Luke wanted to help me plant. He sat down and starting digging, throwing and playing with the dirt. He put it in his hair and rubbed some on his arm. By the end of the day he was covered in dirt, he had a good time. Once we wrapped up outside, it was straight to the tub. He-he
I wish you could see the dirt in his hair.
Greg was taking his picture, told him to smile and this is the look he got, Ha-Ha

Do you see the fists full of dirt?

Do you see that look of defiyance? We were telling him not to throw the dirt

Fun at the park

Sunday we took Luke to the park by our house. It's not far, a nice walk for everyone. Greg took Luke to the park everyday while I was in California for my grandfather's funeral. I think he was hoping it tucker him out and sleep well, which it did. Luke was so cute as we rounded the corner and he spotted the park he got all excited and giggled and said"yes" with a little fist pump action. I hope you enjoy these photos. Like most kids he loves playing at the park.
It won't be long, time to buy a helmet!

Silly Boy

Greg and I bought Luke a balloon the other night. The first one we bought flew away. We were trying to strap him into his car seat and I opened the other car door and out went the balloon. He was so excited about his balloon when we first got it, we had to get him another one. He was so silly while he was playing with his balloon I had to take some video and post it. I don't know what I was thinking when I shot this. I turned the camera so the video is sideways. I guess I was thinking about taking a picture and I just didn't realize the video would be sideways. So turn your head and enjoy my silly boy!

My Working Man

Luke is such a little helper. He wants to help you with what ever it is you are doing. If I am sweeping the floor he wants to take over. If I am scrubbing the floor he will take my rag and I have to get another one. If I am vacuuming, granted he stays away while I am vacuuming, he likes to push the vacuum around. If he hears the water on the washing machine he will run and get some clothes and wants to put them in the washer. When you are taking the clean clothes out of the washer and putting them in dryer he has to push them into the dryer. Even the ladies at daycare tell me that he is such a good little helper. In this video Greg was using the power screwdriver. Once daddy was done he took the bit out and gave it to Luke and he looks like he is trying to fix the cabinet. He-he my little helper.

Long time

I am sorry it has been such a long time since my last post. I have been very busy. Luke has given me plenty to blog about. I just haven't had the time to sit down and write the blog. I took these pictures this morning. He is wearing a new shirt and it really shows off those baby blues. I hope you enjoy them.

Visit from California

Aunt Lana and cousin Taylor came out for a visit the first week of April. They came out to surprise grandpa Ross and see the rest of the family. Luke hasn't seen Lana and Taylor since he was born, 18 months ago. I started showing him their pictures a few weeks before. Hoping that he wouldn't be nervous around them. Well, he didn't really speak or say much of anything until the last day of their trip. He wouldn't go to Lana but he loved playing with Taylor, or Tay Tay for Luke. By the end of their stay Luke had no problem sitting with Aunt Lana.

My Dancing Man

Ok, so Luke loves to dance but catching it on camera is like catching big foot on camera. This video is when Luke was 17 months old and he is mostly being silly in it. He dances a little bit but not much. Hope you enjoy it.

Skater Boy

On St. Patrick's day, an 18 month old little boy rides his dads skateboard. The moment he arrived home from daycare, he asked for the board in his sweet question like manner, booard? Now that the weather has warmed up he wants to ride the board everyday. He has discovered the freedom of coasting on the board. He will ride the board with his dad for a little while but now that he has discovered coasting, he prefers to coast on his own. He peddled himself back and forth about 30 times this afternoon while mom and dad watched and laughed. We all spent about and hour outside and enjoyed the warm weather and sunshine. The night before when Luke was brought in for dinner he threw an absolute fit but tonight this 18 month old little boy peddle himself right out. He did not put up a fight or fuss one word. We walked on in on his own accord and washed his hands like a good little boy and ate his dinner. We hope you enjoy Luke's debut skating video. Dad says Luke likes to shred! (must include the proper lingo ya know)

Luke loves his mommy and daddy

Luke loves to sleep with his mommy and daddy. We are slowly getting him to sleep in his own bed. He is getting better at that but when he does sleep with us, he likes to sleep on top of you. When he wakes up in the middle of the night we will come crawling over to you and lay his head on your opposite shoulder all snuggled up. We are not sure how he decides to snuggle with whom each time, it may be random. One time it will be with me the next time it is with Greg. What's funny is he is the smallest one in the bed but he takes up the most room. He likes to be right next to you and you move over to get some space and next thing you know you are about to fall off the bed. This would be the reason it is time for Luke to move into his own bed. :) He still wakes up during the night but usually goes right back to sleep. Although, I have noticed when he does wake in the night he is pissed. He will thrash about kicking his legs and arms followed by a cry. He is not a happy camper. This last about a minute. Anyway, take a look at these pictures. It was last Saturday night and Greg and I were watching a movie in the living room. Luke was playing on the couch and next I know I feel him snuggle up behind and he was out.

(He didn't even wake up when we moved him, he's sitting up here knocked out)

Dizzy Anyone?

So I guess Luke has discovered the feeling of being dizzy. He likes to run around in a small circle until he falls down. He gets back up and does it again and again. He is such a silly little boy. He brings so much joy to our lives. We feel very blessed to have such a happy, loving, silly little boy.

1st Hair Cut

We took Luke to get his first haircut yesterday. We took him to Snip It's, a children's salon, http://www.snipits.com/ , if you want to check it out. A very cool place for little ones. They had cute little chairs that are made for kids, small aprons and wild colors all over the place. We were so proud of him, he didn't cry at all. He fussed a little bit when she would spray his hair with the water bottle. He seemed more fascinated then anything. He just looked all around and at the hair dresser. She knew what she was doing, you can tell she cuts kid's hair all day long. She was very quick and good. At the end of his haircut they have a " magic box" he puts this card into the box and out comes a hard plastic toy at the bottom, you know a vending machine dressed up with a hard purple plastic shell. He looks so handsome, like a little boy not a 17 months old. I forgot my camera but Greg took some pictures with his cell phone. I will see if I can download them. I took a few pictures once we got home. My good handsome boy.

Abby

Luke spent the night at grandma and grandpa's house last weekend. Luke and Abby, their dog, have become great friends. Every time Luke sees a dog, he says Abby? When he wakes up in the morning it's, Abby. He says her name all the time, Abby, Abby, Abby. He will say her name calmly the first few times then he yells it Ab-by. It's so sweet and cute. They play together all day when he is over there. Abby is a rat terrier, a small dog. She gets excited and wants to play but, when she gets excited she barks. Her bark is high and loud and it makes Luke jump and blink, sometimes he cries. She doesn't bark for long and they resume playing together. I am glad to see that he likes animals. Of course, he is such a sweetie how could he not love animals.
